We are accepting applications for full-time and part-time positions. Work hours are within these time frames: Wed/Thurs 10:30a-7:30p, Fri/Sat 9:30a-7:30p, and Sun 9:30a-4:30p. Part time employees would not be expected to work full shifts.

Full time pay $14-$15/hr + tips; part time pay $10-$12/hr + tips. Paid floating holidays in lieu of set holiday days.

The ideal candidate will be cross-trained for both Cat Care and Barista/Cashier duties.

Cat Care Duties

  • Greeting customers and explaining the rules of the cat room

  • General cat care including feeding, “scooping poop,” and light grooming

  • Monitoring all customer interactions with cats

  • Monitoring and documenting cat behavior and health

  • Engaging with customers and helping them access adoption applications

Barista/Cashier Duties

  • Greeting customers and educating them on all of Familiar’s offerings

  • Checking in customers for cat room reservations

  • Assisting customers with signing waivers 

  • Prepping and crafting handmade coffee, tea, smoothie drinks, and serving food

  • Knowledge of menu items, including rotating drink and food options

  • Taking orders and payment for drinks, food, walk-in cat room time, and merchandise

Skills/Qualifications

  • A general love of cats and desire to improve animal welfare in our community

  • Excellent customer service to create a magical and safe experience for all customers

  • Experience and desire to work with multiple customers at once during busy times

  • Great communication skills with co-workers, managers and customers

  • Strength in working as a member of a team

  • Preferred experience in retail, coffee service and/or working with cats

  • Preferred experience with (or ability to learn and use) POS system

  • Ability to work nights and weekends

  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines including cleaning, sanitizing, and policies/procedures

Café Manager $16-$17/hr

Seeking a self-motivated individual who meets general Skills/Qualifications and also has the following

  • At least 1 year of management experience and 1 year of barista experience

  • Creativity to assist with developing menu items and cat café experiences

  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification (preferred), or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
